HITECHindia, the Indian
Community Association, in association with HITECH telugu kala samiti,
held a Great Educational and Cultural Event for families at Embassy
Auditorium on 13 December 2000. Mr. Sodhi, First Secretary, Indian Embassy, accompanied by Mr. Babji Rao, President and CEO, HITECH, inaugurated the Event by lighting the Traditional Lamp. The program was anchored by Dr. Geeti Chadha. First there was an Educational Event, in which IIT Kharagpur Alumni Association, Kuwait Chapter, made a presentation about IIT JEE procedures. Mr. Indrajit Bhowmick, Kuwait Chapter President explained that they are working with Indian authorities and 6 IITs to make Kuwait as a screening test center for JEE, for the benefit of Indian students in Kuwait. Mr. Vikas Paul made a Powerpoint presentation about JEE. This was followed by beautifully choreographed Bharat Natyam Dances, presented by 36 students of Mrs. Sujata Rajendran, Director, Nritta Dhyana Dance School, with live music provided by Mr. Ajay Warrier (vocal), Mrs. Sujata Rajendran (Nattuvangam), Mr. Sathees Chandran (Violin) and Ramesh Kumar (Mridangam). A violin recital by Masters Vivek Rajendran and Deepak Rajendran, disciples of Mr. Sathees Chandran, was very refreshing to the audience. Next, Audience applauded greatly and enjoyed a humorous Hindi skit - Chutku Ke Pet Me Dard - directed by Mr. Dasoundi and enacted by Mrs. Ranjana Kapoor, Master Karan Kapoor, Mr. Rajender Tyagi, and Mr. Ajaya Upadhay. Mr. Yugam Goel presented dances from much popular Indian motion picture - Kaho Na Pyar Hai - to the continuous cheers of the audience. The grand finale of the evening was, a Colorful Show of Styles by 44 children and future celebrities, choreographed with music by Mrs. Kona Padma an alumni of JNTU, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Choreography of the boys event was further synchronized by Mr. Akshat Mannan and Mr. Rajeshwar Anand, both studying in IIT Delhi. The Event displayed current trends in Fashion with grace and elegance, celebrating the creativity and energy of the Children studying in Schools in Kuwait and Universities in India.
